Honest answers, in writing
These are the questions patients ask us most at our Wimpole Street practice — about check-ups and hygiene, emergencies, replacing missing teeth, whitening, straightening and paying for treatment. Every answer follows the same rules as our clinical care: real prices, no guaranteed outcomes, and nothing recommended that doesn't genuinely serve you. Fees & payment
A routine examination is £95, and new patients pay £30 for their first consultation, including X-rays where clinically needed and a written, itemised plan. Your dentist will set a recall interval based on your individual risk — for many adults that's every six months.
A hygiene visit is £89, and new patients pay £49 for their first hygienist visit. Regular professional cleaning removes the hardened plaque a toothbrush can't, helps manage gum disease, and helps keep staining at bay between whitening or cosmetic treatments.
Flexible payment options can be discussed at your consultation — your dentist will talk you through what's available for your treatment plan before anything begins.
Yes, always. After your examination you receive a written, itemised treatment plan with the cost of each item, so there are no surprises. If the plan needs to change during treatment, we explain why and update the quote in writing before proceeding.
Yes — our new-patient consultation is £30 and includes an examination with a GDC-registered dentist, X-rays where clinically needed, and a written, itemised treatment plan. There is no obligation to proceed.
Appointments & getting here
We're on Wimpole Street in Marylebone, London W1. Bond Street, Oxford Circus and Regent's Park underground stations are all within walking distance, and several bus routes run along Wigmore Street. Street parking in Marylebone is limited, so we generally recommend public transport.

Yes. The practice is regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and every dentist and hygienist is registered with the General Dental Council — you can verify any clinician's GDC number on their team profile.
A dentist diagnoses and treats — examinations, fillings, crowns, extractions and cosmetic work. A hygienist focuses on preventing and managing gum disease through professional cleaning and tailored home-care advice. Both are GDC-registered, and at our practice they work as one team on your care.

No. Many of our patients come to us after a long gap, and our job is to help, not to lecture. Your first consultation is simply an honest assessment of where things stand and a clear, written plan for what — if anything — needs doing, in whatever order suits you.
Often, yes. For suitable cases we can stage treatment across shorter appointments so nothing feels rushed or overwhelming. Your dentist will discuss pacing with you when your plan is written.
Modern local anaesthetic means most treatment is far more comfortable than many patients expect, though everyone's experience differs. We check you're comfortable before we start, agree a stop signal, and pause whenever you need us to.
Cosmetic treatment
Professional whitening is considered safe when prescribed and supervised by a GDC-registered dentist after an examination, and it is only available to over-18s. In the UK it is illegal for anyone other than a dental professional to provide it. Our dentist-supervised whitening is £399 — currently £199 on our special offer — and always starts with a health check of your teeth and gums.
Composite bonding adds tooth-coloured resin directly to the tooth, usually with little or no drilling, and can suit chips, small gaps and edge wear. Veneers are thin porcelain facings, made in a laboratory, that can suit more extensive shape or colour changes for suitable cases. Your dentist will explain which — if either — fits your teeth and goals at consultation.
Yes — alongside our general and cosmetic dentistry we offer ProAligner clear aligners, from £2,000. Treatment is planned and supervised in person by a GDC-registered dentist, and there is no upper age limit as long as your teeth and gums are healthy.
Yes. Tooth-coloured composite fillings start from £185 and are matched to your natural shade. Whether an existing metal filling should be replaced depends on its condition — we will only recommend replacement when it genuinely benefits the tooth.
The main options are a dental implant (from £2,950 including the crown), a bridge (from £995 per unit) or a denture (partial from £795). Each has different pros, costs and timescales — at your consultation we'll examine the space, explain all suitable options and give you a written, itemised plan with no obligation.
It varies with the treatment, your bite and how the teeth are cared for. Bonding may need occasional polishing or repair over the years; whitening can fade gradually and may benefit from top-ups; well-maintained veneers can last many years for suitable cases. No cosmetic result lasts forever, and your dentist will explain realistic maintenance before you commit.
Emergencies
We reserve same-day emergency slots for severe toothache, swelling, broken teeth and knocked-out teeth. Call the practice as early as you can and we will do everything possible to see you that day — our Wimpole Street location is minutes from Bond Street and Oxford Circus stations.
Handle the tooth by the crown, not the root. If it's clean, try to reinsert it gently into the socket; if not, keep it in milk or inside your cheek and call us straight away. The sooner an adult tooth is seen, the better the chance of saving it — never attempt to reinsert a child's baby tooth.
Severe or worsening toothache, facial swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, a knocked-out or badly broken tooth, or a lost crown causing pain. If you're unsure, call us — our reception team will help you judge urgency. Swelling that affects breathing or swallowing needs A&E immediately.
